New Patients at
Whalen Integrative Wellness Solutions
A Clear Plan From Day One
Walking into a new practice can feel like a gamble—will you be rushed, get a generic speech, and then a cookie-cutter plan? Or will someone actually listen, connect the dots, and explain what happens next?
New patient care here is designed to be both structured and personal at the same time. You’ll have space to share your history, your current concerns, and the patterns you’ve noticed. Then we map out next steps using a whole-person lens, guided by the four foundational pillars: nervous system communication, nutrition for growth and repair, detox pathways, and mind-body stress relief. Simple framework, smarter decisions.

Your First Appointment, Longer for a Reason
The first visit is typically longer to ensure nothing important is missed. It allows time for a thorough intake, a comprehensive exam, “unlike any exam I have had before”, exclaim many patients.
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a key component used to evaluate your health in real time. Current functioning of the communication systems of the body—nervous system, nerve pathways, meridians, and the connected muscles, fascia, organs, and systems of the body —is dynamically measured with the reflex muscle test of AK.
Forgotten health problems of long ago are often revealed with AK. An in-depth conversation turns scattered details into a clear direction. If you’ve been told “your labs are fine” but you still don’t feel like yourself, that disconnect deserves attention.
Dr. Whalen also discusses optional ways to track progress over time, including at-home body composition monitoring, to make change easier to see rather than relying on guesswork.

Efficient and Focused Follow-Up Visits
Follow-ups are structured to keep a positive momentum without feeling rushed. You’ll review what’s changed and what hasn’t. Applied Kinesiology is used at each visit to measure instant change and confirm improvement is being made immediately. We’ll also discuss what influences might be responsible, like sleep, stress load, food choices, recovery, and daily habits (the real stuff). Care often includes Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) when stress patterns seem to be holding the body in a chronically repetitive ill place, along with other integrative strategies based on your needs.

What to Bring and How to Prepare
Coming prepared helps your first visit run smoothly. Helpful items include:
- Any recent test results or imaging reports you can access
- A current medication and supplement list
- Notes on your main goals, symptoms, and patterns you’ve noticed
- A few days of food, sleep, and stress observations (even casual notes)
